well its already been 6 months since i enlist.
come n think abt it
so much have been said and done
n is simply no point in quitting and backing out now.
abt 4 more months to be a full-fleged commando.
ahaha!!
RED BERET!
so much for it.

first i finish my commando bmt..
though is nothing much different from normal bmt,
there is still a slight inclination to commandos as e instructors have emphasize on our role and our future positons..
and of coz e sight of e red beret everynow and then helps reinforce our belief tt we will be one like them in e near future.
in bmt our evaluation is far different from those fellas from tekong.
we are access in almost every part..
IPPT, SOC, field camp blah blah...
BMT ended in quite a gd note..

den it went over to cross training..
which is like nothing much..
nothing much to comment abt..

we went for airborne after tt..
airborne training, though is shagg, but still it is enjoyable..
nitez off everyday and e jump is definitely very fun!

after airborne we proceeded to my commando demo course.
there we learn all e basics of demolition..
was under a harsh but brilliant instructor..
and went thru intensive training..

next was boat operator course..
and i have to say is e most welfare course!
we can bring can drinks for lunch and nitez off are given now and den..
instructors and commanders are patient and frenly..
it certainly makes a gd course.
though e stores tt we have to bring around is like unforgettable..
e bringing of stores certainly leaves a deep imprint..

and now im back to demo course at e engineers side..
e ones tt they are like e expert in it..
but i have to say i beg to differ!

okok so much of my journey to be a commando..
my demo course is ending this week thursday..
can u believe it when we return on friday..
we are gg to go for our 35km route march?!?!?!?!?!

A Short Simple Story by mK

Once there lives a boy who went over to a foreign country for a few years due to his dad's business. The whole family went over n resides at his dad's frenz place. His dad's friend is a local over there n has a daughter which is of somewad same age as him. Being the only foreign kid in e town, he is all alone. However tt little gal befriends him. Though there is a little difficulty in communicating due to e language barrier, they 2 still have gd fun n have many wonderful moments, even when they are left alone most of the time. They will walk along the shores of the beach and play in e fields, they will explore their big house together. Once they climb a tree and sat on the branch and admire view of the sun-set together, side-by-side. It got chilly and he offer her his scarf. Soon time flies and was time for e little boy to go back to his own country. The girl's family and the little girl sent the boy's family and the boy to their car and they waved at each other as the car departed. The boy did not leave the girl out of his sight and continued waving at her as the car went further and further away. And that was the last time he saw her.

Many years have passed, and now the boy is already a grandfather. He has a successful business and his son has already been married and have a son. He has retired and has finally peacefully laying back and enjoying life. His hair is all white and face is filled with fine lines. He decided to go back to the place where he went when he was young, hoping to find the little girl that he once was with. He took a flight down and made his way to the town. The town was the same as before and he went abt searching for e girl, who is a lady by now. He searched through every building and asked around, but still failed. He decided to go to the park to take a slow stroll and rest, the very same park tt he once went with her to play. As he sat down on the bench, he saw a little girl. That little girl was running with arms outstretch. He looked at her and began to remember the times he shared with his friend. The little girl stopped running and her grandmother picked her up. She embraced her. A cold gush of wind blew and the grandma took out a scarf and wrapped around her grand-daughter. The man saw the scarf and was the exact same one. After all these years it was still the same scarf in good condition.

He stood up and approach her and their eyes met.

my boat operator course has ended..
once again another wonderful enriching course has ended and im moving on to another phase..
move here n there..
makes me feel so bleahhh..
from e words of Grace of coz..
haha!!

still remember when i spoke to her abt it before gg for this course..
and now it has ended..

i have to say tt i kinda enjoy it..
e course is rather enriching and fun..
we learnt how to setup a boat and prepare it for launching to the sea..
welfare is given to us to e max i can say..
we get to bring can drinks and put into those ice igloo and have them for lunch..
also during preparations for launching into sea we had a nice water dispencer for us to get ice cold water to drink!!

i can say the only setback of the course would be e preparation of the stores..
there are plaenty of stores to move abt..
motor, anchor, safety bouys, boxes, jerry cans blah blah..
and we are doing this for 7 boats!!
so it takes abt 2 hrs to prepare everything..
during perparation e IC would be most likely be scolded for nt handling and distributing manpower well..
o wells.. leadership..
its kinda sad to see such a thing..
but den again its really up to e IC to control and facilitate the whole movement.

gg out to sea is definitely a gd thing..
we get to enjoy sea breeze and e tide!
e motor is pretty powerful and can travel quite fast!
since e sea has no barriers unlike e roads..
we will ramm the trottle to the max and blast our way through e seas!!
it gets real fun when the waves become choppy and e ride sure gets bumpyy!!
a simple punishment onboard would be man overboard!
haha.. hada jump into e sea and get e whole body wet!!

we learnt how to control e boat and how to dock it well and perform e numerous drills as a whole..
as usual we are suppose to be e subject matter expertin e sea movement..

instructors are nice and patient..
they teach each n everyone of us well n gave us ample practice!
there were many things to be taught to us and its nt easy to master them..
well all e tests came and went and we pass it..
and we are passing out..

after 2 n half weeks of training..
we are nw operational and efficient coxwaine..
we dun need any instructors by our side and we can handle our own..
haha...
so they say it..

i have acquired a number of things out of this course..
first would be my tan skin..
everyday under e strong sun has burnt me badly and nw im all charred!
but soon e tanness will go away i suppose..
since i get fair so easily..
my forearm has gone stronger since i have been carrying all e heavy assault boats and rubber dingy..
is a team effort to carry e boats and sure requires aot of strength to carry it..
if someone slackens and dun wanan carry..
e others suffer and has to carry e load..
well some ppl choose nt to carry and pretend..
some give all his might..
this course has also gel e ppl up alot..
my course mates used to be pretty clique-ish but nw all boundaries has been broken and everyone is ONE!
well except some of coz.. haha!!

i wanna thank God for everything He has done for me..

most imptly i have learnt finally why He placed me in this course..
during BMT was in a dilemma whether should i accept this dual-course thing of go for leader course..
though was tempted to go for leader course..
but i decided to stay on n try out..
eventually He reaveled his purpose for me..
leader course was all abt tekaning and tekaning..
there will be constant deprivation of slp and is pretty exhausting...
and out of it will get a sgt rank and 100 bucks more..
also a chance to go ocs..
well for demo-boatman course we get to specialise in 2 fields!
2 fields are that are highly specialised and we ought to be expert in it..
thus e name SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT(SME)
this 2 course has opened me pretty much and i get to try things tt i wont be able to get to do it outside..
explosives and a motor boat..
where to get it..
haha!!
as this 2 field requires special knowledge..
we are required to learn n i have adopted a different learning attitude and thus able to excel quickly..
though im still a slow learner haha!!
my relation wif GOd has also drawn closer and is nice to follow his path!

well tt's it i gotta say..

hmmmmmm...
decided to blog since there's a bit of time left before i head back to camp..

i juz saw e da vinci code..
i hada say is really a nice show..
e effects are superb and i like e cinematography!!
this show has raised alot of issues and controversies regarding e contents and wad lies beneath it..
for me i know my faith and i know my stuffs so i aint gg to be affected by it..
my walk wif God is a personal one..
no one comes in between..
hahaha!!

okok enuff said..
my week has been a relatively i-dunno-how-to-describe one..
on monday i moved back to hendon camp to start off my boat operator course..
met e instructors and had lessons on e boat and engine..
learn e specifications and handling aspects..
had numerous tests and finally we launched to sea on friday..
e course is rather physically draining..
hada carry e boat and engine which is so HEAVYYYY!!!
it really can kill!! hahaha!!
e boat is around 200kg and even if we had 10 men to carry..
it still weighs a ton!!
e sea part is rather interesting..
we jumped into e sea wif lifejackets on and swam!!
did some capsize drills and man-overbaord drills!
quite fun and wet.. heh heh..
2 more weeks and will be thru..

though there is nt much regimentation..
it somehow feels quite sian..
i dunno why...
hope e Lord will turn e tide around..
as in e feelings part.. nt e sea!
hahaha!!
e instructors and commanders are nice ppl..
they even designate someone to be a welfare ic!! hahaha!!

this weekend had been hanging out wif e COA ppl..

for teens went for a 2.4 run wif glen n andrew..

training up for my 9.14 timing..

chatted and did some catchin up wif Andrew..
my dear big fella..

we shared our problems and issues and talked things out..
hopin for a better life..
was a gd session..

actually i realised tt everyone have their own problems..
somehow another..
and to a certain degree..
my frenz in army, in church, outside ones..
all are facing some problems..
i had to say those tt do nt have much problems are those tt are doing well in life..
in a way they had taken care of most of e aspects of their life..
studies..
outside activities..
relationships..
family..
money..
work..
blah blah blah..

those tt are doing well would be those tt are well-off, have an entry to uni, managing their job well, have loving and supportive family and have a gd n steady gf..
but tt will be rare..
haha..

some of my frenz are like wanting to study but has failed to do so..
and they are worrying wad they gg to do when they finish their NS..
some are wonderin wad's gg to be like for them when they go out to work..
some are worryin where else they can study after doing badly for As..
n when i look at myself and think abt e problems im having..
i can say tt is rather insignificant compared to theirs..

oh God pls bless their souls!!

next week is gg to be a bday week!
frenz of my are gg to have their bdays and is time to celebrate..
hopin to use e session to chill out after such a busy n stressful week!

demo course kick off a few weeks back..
actually last week..
an 8-week course tt is pretty packed!
morning would be havin lessons in e comp lab..
there is a software tt u can learn n know everything u needa know abt demo..
haha!!
den come afternoon is more on practical!
we have all e dummy explosives and strings tt suppose to resemble e real things..
still quite cool..
ahhahaa!!

our instructor is a pretty old fella :P
but nonetheless full of experience and knowledge tt wishes to impart everything to us.
he wishes tt we will question n challenge him but none bother.. haha!!
he sets high standards for us and tt like kinda pressure us alot.. ahha!!

live firing was an eye-opener!
real life explosives!!!!!
we lay e charges and ignite it..
u ever felt e earth shook???
u ever heard of a noise so loud tt even ppl at 15 blocks away can still hear u clearly??
hahahaa!!

well so much for demo course!
now heading to e next course: boatman!!!

mama's day came and celebrated wif my mum by treating her to a buffet steamboat!
since im earning muz as wel give her some extra $$!
haha!! how filial am i..
its always nice to spend time wif her..
she comes from taiwan and is all alone in sg..
nt much frenz though..
after all there isnt much frenz u can make since everyone is out there from themselves accordin to her..

she should come to church but den again she has her own reasons!

met him outside before leaving and had a heart to heart chat..
since its like we rarely get to speak to each other.
nice chap..
after yrs in this business can safely say he has really learn and gain a whole lot of experience in leadin youths.
spoke and encourage me abt my NS and life.
shared wif him some of my views and ideas in regards of my life and church and God.
gd session though.

went to do some physical training wif Glen.
was kinda surprise by my timing for 2.4km run.
haha..
i needa train more to do better..
anyway my timing was by far e best..
but nt gd enuff for a commando..
ahaha!!

a word of advice to u ppl out there who are thinkin u r suffering:
all suffering will come to an end, so juz do ur best!

i really wish i can quickly settle down..
as in get my red beret...
but still long way to go..

there are times tt are so slack tt u will love army..
there are times tt are so tough tt makes u curse and swear..
there are times tt are so worn-out mentally tt u will wanna slp as much as u like..
there are times tt are so physically drained tt u wanna lay on ur bed whole day..
there are times tt are so spritually dry tt u wanna come back to Lord again n again..
there are times tt are so emotionally turned tt u wanna be alone and nt be bothered..
there are times tt are hyped-up tt u think u can take on e whole world..

tt's coz is my bday!

and i have to thank God for e ppl tt celebrated wif me!
nothing beats spending time and celebrating special events wif ppl tt u love and truly care!

first went to have a buffet lunch wif my mum, aunt and granny!

after such long time of nt seein each other,
we still have e time to meet up to have lunch.
granny, though already very old, is still fighting fit! =P

she is still active and lively..
though hard on the movement..
but nonetheless living life to e fullest!
my aunt is always there to take care of her!
such lovely and caring lady!

and so we had a haughty lunch!

juz completed my airborne course.
YEAH!
its a fantastic course!
a course tt is worth gg..
but it is also a very tiring course!
hada train and train and do drills and drills so tt we are very familiar wif our responsiblities..
like e instructors said we are e only ones gg to help ourselves when jumpin off e plane.
no one can come n assist u or there is no second chance..
he wish there is a second chance or he can come n assist, but e fact is up in they skyyyyyyy..
we are e only ones tt can help ourselves..
e instructors are nt gg around in e sky helping one another to open e parachute or help e ppl steer away from each other or give us a soft landing spot..
ITS ALL UP TO US!!

especially for a school like SA tt has a long runnin history..
such triumph is nothing but a great pleasure and joy to hear..
it will definitely resonate in e minds and hearts of e old boys and students of SA!
it is even better when hearing tt SA has beaten their old bitter rivals!

Good Friday and Easter Sunday came n went.
it was definitely a good weekend..
spending my free time in church and catching up wif my old pals and frenz!!
as a matter of fact most of my free time and book out time is wif e church! haha!!
actually would like to serve in e children's ministry..
play and teach e little children tt i once was..
and hopefully raised some gd leaders and committed ppl there..

den again..
i have no timeeeee!!!!

currently my life is like NS all e way..
been praying abt where my life should and lettin God steering my life..
haha!!
i guess wad He has for me is something fun n fruitful..
Ah i pray tt i have e discipline to carry it out..

oh i went to life bookstore today!
saw a nice album my KUTLESS
entitled Strong Tower
basically it contains all e praise and worship songs tt u n i will sing in service..
they took those songs and sang it their style..
TOTALLY COOL AND AWESOME MAN!!!

wanted to get it but realise i have no more discmen..
haha!!

oh another big thing is i gt a big pay increament..
but i think is only for this month...
gave my mum some money and brought her to eat a nice buffet lunch.
bought my dad a nice NIKE runnin shorts..

quite a sizeable hols also..

all those days of them fetching me to and fro from camp..

ages have passed since i last blog..
as usual..
been so busy n so tied-up tt doing own things is so difficult..

lots of events and things have passed..

i finally pass my BMT n had my POP parade..
juz my luck tt i dun have a block leave n hada go back one following nite..
well same as everyone..
though feelin sian but den again there's always my platoon mates to be wif..
those tt i had so much fun wif n had such strong esprit de corp..

but den we were told to split to vocational courses..
so we are now staying under course level!
jzu great..
now everything is like BMT from e start..
whole lot of things to do..
most sian thing is tt we have to know everyone again..
haiz..

thank God things gt better e second day..
ppl began to open up n talk more..
realise some of the course ppl are nice ppl to talk to..
den again there are some flaws and errors tt needa be accepted..

had 2 weeks of cross trainin after POP..
transition trainin from an infantry to commando..
so did alot of commando things..
more weapons.. more skills.. more knowledge..
zzzzz...
lessons and plans were like screwed up here n there..
i think e instructors and superiors can feel it themselves tt things arent runnin smoothly and there are many major hiccups..

well e 2 weeks is finally over..
and im gg for my airborne course!!!
finallllyyyyy!!
e long awaited course is finally here!!
haha!!

now still in trainin n things are gg quite routinely..
wake up eat breakfast do some pt  den attend lessons..
have some hands on den tests..
goes on n on..
i really wish to have my red beret now..
turn ops and get settled down..
there are so many other things to do for me..

my future is so bleak..
i need to have plans and directions..
everynite i pray for help..
n slowly things are revealed to me..
juz need a little bit of faith.. juz need a little paitence..
nt sayin im impatient or faithless..
juz nt in a happy n joyous mood..
hate it!

i really wish i can have someone to be wif n talk to..
someone tt i can geniunely be comfortably wif and like to be wif..
someone there for me n brings a smile both in my heart and my face..

field camp ended like last week!
gosh i dun wanna think abt it or relive it again!!
coz thinkin abt it makes me real sian!!

luckily we got to bath on the 4th day!
we din bath nor change our uniform for 4 days!!
den we change again! heng~
field camp do alot of crazy tactical things!!
walk here n there..
fire some blanks..
cover n conceal here n there..
den due to the fear of some restless spirits,
we had to say excuse me n thks in hokkien..
o wells.. all in the fun!!
e worst part of the field camp would be the morning fitness, 5bx..
we will do those combat warm up followby a short run!!
the run practically killed me la..
gotta carry my rifle and run on the rocky track!

well they tie a rod on to 2 trunks la.. haha!!
field camp ended wif a super tiring note!!

we got turned out on e last nite n when the whole thing ended its like 12am..
the dawn of the new day..

juz something real unpleasant.. =P
this was followby our SITUATIONAL TESTS!!!!
so we spent the whole dark morning learning some skills like tieing knots..
den we make our way to the test sites and had to walk there wif everything on..
den we do those tests in tactical formations and at e mean time fulfilling all e tasks requirements!
we start like at 12am n finish it at 6pm..
so u know how tired were we la..
my morale was super super low n my instructor likes to tekan us..
sian la..
thk God He gave me strength to pull thru!!

IPPT test i finally pass le..
now gunning for GOLD!!!!
